Alastair Mitchell MA Vet MB MRCVS

Alastair qualified from Cambridge in 1982 and went straight in to mixed practice in Hampshire for 3 years followed by a 6 month period in Canada. Since then Alastair has worked at Usk Vets as a mixed practitioner with a particularly keen interest in dealing with horses, deer and cattle. Alastair is a certified measurer for the JMB (joint measuring board) and also has considerable experience in prepurchase examination for horses.

Mervyn Cole BVSc MRCVS

Mervyn graduated from Bristol in 1976 and has been at Usk Vets ever since. He has always been involved in all aspects of a mixed practice and has acquired considerable experience as a pharmaceutical consultant. Over the years Mervyn has developed a specialised interest in farm animal preventative health care.

Philip Huxley BVSc Cert VR MRCVS

Philip graduated from Bristol in 1982, then spent 3 years as a mixed practitioner in Stoke-on-Trent. Deciding to focus on companion animals, Philip joined Usk Vets as small animal clinician in 1987. Furthering his expertise, he successfully completed a certificate in veterinary radiology in 1994. Philip is now the senior small animal veterinary surgeon for the surgery and has a wealth of experience in both soft tissue and orthopaedic operations.
